Clouds and Misty Mornings

Clouds and misty mornings

 Really bring me down

Clouds and misty mornings

When I can’t get off the ground

The morning comes     The day never breaks

The sky is gray     I don’t want to wake

Hours passing by     There’s no change

Don’t feel like doing much of anything today

The air’s thick and heavy    To encase

Trying to expand     No space

The day drags on    I feel the drain

The chilling mist has found its way into my brain

Clouds and misty mornings

Really bring me down

Clouds and misty mornings

Nothing's to be found

Watching the world stand still through my window pane

Smothered and consumed by the endless gray

Rain Rain      Wash away

Cleanse the shrouded sky for a fresh new day

Trying to think clearly     I’m in a haze

From this empty gloom is there no escape

Sun Sun     Shine your rays

Bring forth the light of a bright new day

Clouds and misty mornings

 Really bring me down

Clouds and misty mornings

When I can’t get off the ground

Slipping into the chasms of my mind

Find myself dwelling on what’s behind

Feeling stuck and in my own way

How long in this will I have to stay

Wind, Wind     Blow away

Open up the skies for a clear new day

Clouds and misty mornings

 Really bring me down

Clouds and misty mornings

 Nothing’s to be found
