Save The Land

Look around what do I see

Things that I can hardly believe

What happened here could only have come from greed

Yet does anyone feel her as she bleeds

Went to the forest that once grew so high

Now it looks like a battlefield there’s no sign of life

How can we ravage the very source of the air we breathe

Somehow this must be some kind of insanity

Save the land     Our Mother Earth

Save the land     Place of our birth

Save the land     Deciding our fate

Save the land     Before it’s too late

Down on the river where we used to swim

Now there’s a sign sayin’ you best not go in

How can we spoil whats essential for all life

It’s surely madness to continue to deny

As the sky up high gets more depleted year after year

Putting us at risk in many places even here

How can we fail to value natures protective shield

Lessening our footprint life's preservation its to yield

Save the land    Our mother earth

Save the land    Place of our birth

Save the land    Deciding our fate

Save the land    Before its too late

Deep in the valley where the headwaters ran so free

Its been walled off in their grab for more energy

How can its people hold out against the powers that be

Whose ancestral grounds they are never again to see

Let’s honor our connection with the earth under our feet

Restore the balance of nature’s harmony

Learn to respect all life as sacred on this earth

Our own survival is the true measure of it’s worth

Save the land     Our Mother Earth

Save the land     Place of our birth

Save the land     Deciding our fate

Save the land     Before it’s too late
