Save the Land 2

As I look out upon the once lush scenery

Comes a tear for what is now but a memory

How could this ever have been allowed to be

What has surely become an ongoing tragedy

All 'long the shore it’s black as far as the eye can see

Once again the cause should have long been obsolete

How much loss of precious life must there be

‘Til we put an end to these backwards policies

Save the land     Our Mother Earth

Save the land     Place of our birth

Save the land     Deciding our fate

Save the land     Before it’s too late

Up on the mesa where the sun set so spectacularly

It’s now an eyesore at the hands of corporate greed

Back at the council it’s another sellout of the tribe

Who get there fair share with a ruined water supply

Here at the point here the perfect wave met the sand

Its all torn up due to prime real estate plans

What was held sacred in the hearts of the community

Soon will be lost to yet another monstrosity

Save the land     Our Mother Earth

Save the land     Place of our birth

Save the land     Deciding our fate

Save the land     Before it’s too late

Mother earth is calling us to do all that we can

To care for, protect and cherish the grandeur of this land

For ourselves, our children and generations yet to come

We're the ones we've been waiting for if its ever to be done

As our planet continues to go ever more warm

Ice keeps melting to raise alarm and warn

How can we blindly ignore this when there's so much at stake

What our future holds depends on the choices that we make

Let’s walk in beauty on the earth under our feet

Be in gratitude for all she gives so generously

Open our eyes to this miracle of creation

And how we’re all connected in the web of life as one

Save the land      Our Mother Earth

Save the land     Place of our birth

Save the land     Deciding our fate

Save the land     Before it’s too late
