Here's whats left in the wake of a monstrous hurricane

For most of these people life will never again be the same

Some lost everything they had while all too many lost their lives

In this place once called home that now you’d hardly recognize

 

After all they’ve taken out of your pay

And still nothin’s comin’ back your way

Ain’t it hard when it comes down to what’s true

They couldn’t care any less about you

 

Suddenly you’re out of a job ‘cause it’s been shipped overseas

Gone are the days towards our own workers there’s any sense of loyalty

Now you’re minus a paycheck with no less hungry mouths to feed

What only matters is more while you’re left behind to bleed

 

You’re nobody in their eyes

Whose hopes and dreams have been cast aside

While they’re ridin’ high just gettin’ fat

Guess who’s sure to always get the shaft

 So how’s it that the bigwigs in business always manage to get their way

After all they’ve got more than it takes to buy out everyone in the game

From the crisis of their own making comes all they ask for or need

As they reap huge profits and bonuses while the bill falls on you and me

 

Any day you could lose your home

Since you’ve been taken on some bogus loan

Then come promises they’ll throw you a line

But you’re left sinkin’ from the weight of their lies

           But apparently there’s quite a gap between what they tell ya and what you see

          ‘Til it’s clear that you’re over there to kill for their agenda of power and greed

 

They expect you to give up your life

Without the truth or the reason why

If you survive all the hell you go through

When you return they turn their backs on you
